GUEST POST: THE ANTIQUE PATTERN LIBRARY PROJECT HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO METAVERSE LIBRARIES

Metaverse Libraries is situated in Canada and registered as a non-profit there. Registration as a charity is in progress. Since the Metaverse Libraries site is not yet fully installed, New Media Arts Inc., has graciously allowed us to publish the Antique Pattern Library new publication posts on this site, for the time being.

Green Sajou booklet, 16 pages not including covers. Mostly whitework: names, borders, corner designs, two alphabets, two pages of braiding patterns, a page with four simple scattered motifs, and several very complex monograms.

O-YS001 Frl. Johanna Rubli – Schiffchen-Spitzen und ihre Anwendung
Early 20thC book about tatting, 64 pages not including covers. Richly illustrated with items to decorate with tatted edges, corners, and motifs. Tablecloths, childrens caps and clothing, doll clothes, ladies lingerie, bags, and even a lampshade.

O-AF001 Men’s Pullman Slipper Set
Single sheet with crochet instructions for a pair of striped slippers. They can be folded once and put in a crocheted case with a zipper, instructions for the case are included. Probably meant as travel accessory.

If you would like to help the Antique Pattern Library, introducing the Library to people who don’t know of it yet, is very useful, since it broadens our user base and therefore also our future donor base. Blogs, tiktok, instagram, pinterest, ravelry, facebook, other social media – show others your favorite publications and what you made using them. Our work is only useful when people actually use it!
